Create your own sculpture in bronze

Designed and run in-house, Meridian Sculpture is proud to offer a course that integrates the craftsmanship of the nation’s first fine art foundry with a flexible and creative workshop experience.

Our hands-on, short course in sculpture modelling is a truly unique opportunity to learn or refine your skills with the option to have your work cast in bronze. Open to all skill levels and creative backgrounds, the small-group course is run by our head sculptor, Darien Pullen, an artist and educator with over 40 years of experience.

The course starts with a tour of our Fitzroy foundry, where students learn about the lost-wax casting process. Next, they'll explore various wax modelling techniques to create their own unique piece. Students have the option to have their pieces cast in bronze and finished with a patina of their choice, to be kept forever!

Book your place

  • No previous experience is required! Even if you have never worked with your hands you will be able to participate and get a lot out of the course.

  • Workshops are held at our foundry, located at 8 Spring St. in Fitzroy, Melbourne.

    We are close to many public transport options including the 11 and 96 trams.

    Please note that the workshops are held on the second floor which is currently only accessible via two sets of stairs.

  • ‘Without bronze’ includes the tuition only.

    ‘With bronze’ includes the casting and finishing of your work at a reduced rate.

  • Workshops are held once a month over two sessions; Saturday and Sunday, from 2 pm until 5 pm.

    The first session includes a detailed tour of the foundry so it is important to arrive on time!

  • You can purchase a standard gift voucher from the shop.

    Alternatively, if you want to book a specific workshop date as a gift you can do so and request a gift voucher in the notes section at check out.

  • Yes! While we do not offer Afterpay or Zippay we are able to split payments.

  • Yes! If you are a student or concession card holder we offer a 10% discount. Please email us to redeem.

    The workshop with bronze casting is great value for money as it includes a casting at a reduced rate.
