Jan Brown

The late Jan Brown was a renowned sculptor, beginning her career in London and moving to Canberra in 1956. Local wildlife and the landscape of motherhood became major inspirations, as is exhibited in her affectionate series of works depicting magpies, ravens and other creatures that were a part of her daily life. Her ability to capture the innate nature of her subjects has made Brown a cherished member of the Australian art history canon.

Her estate is now represented by Beaver Galleries. You can review the current catalogue of her available works here.
